They were the first (almost the only) band I ever went to see by myself. I could normally count on at least one of my friends to have the same good taste in music as me (hah!) but nobody wanted to come to that one. Rode the train into NYC all by myself...
@rpardee Good on you. For me that first band I saw solo was Throwing Muses. Would have loved to see the Sundays!
I've always been a proponent of going to shows/movies/dinner out on one's own if you don't have friends to join you. If you want to go, why deprive yourself? My husband has really different taste in music than I do and is less of a fan, so this approach has come in handy later in life, too.
