I've been putting off shopping for one until everyone in my household is vaccinated, but I'm not sure how long I can last. Pisses me off that something that costs hundreds of dollars has such a short life expectancy. All I need is a damn battery.
@AlphaCentauri Bleah. I've actually got a pretty functional setup--laptop that's *always* plugged in to power + docking station. But it's like 5 years old & just running super slowly. I'm going to replace it w/a desktop this time I think, which I don't mind shopping for on-line.

I kind of need the laptop -- bring it downstairs to be sociable when doing quiet work, take it to a separate room for on line meetings.
Reading the newspaper this morning I happened on a Dell ad for a "doorbuster" President's day sale today on an old-timey desktop computer that looks pretty good. (Vostro for ~$700). Seems fitting that I'd learn about a deal on an "old man box" from print media.
(deal starts at 3pm Eastern BTW)
