@estherschindler Those books are what first turned me on to reading as a kid.
I would surely not want to follow C.S.L.'s act, writing wise.
@rpardee I'd have said that about Dune.
Though I have resisted any urge to add the extra books in that universe. OTOH I'm online friends with their most notable author. (He's written for me.)

@estherschindler I'm a big Dune fan too. I read some of the sequels--found them to be decent, but ultimately disappointing (b/c I want the real deal).
