Just woke up because of acid reflux in my chest. Any suggestion to curb it down? Do share.
@ridor9th p.s. fyi fats make it worse so stay away from cows milk or yogurt.
@ridor9th baking soda?
@ridor9th
I take Prilosec every morning, but when I do get reflux at night I take a Tums or two.
@ridor9th my brother raised the head of his bed a few inches with bricks, fwiw
@DJ95X @ridor9th I agree with this. Raising head of your bed or getting an incline wedge/pillow can help. Gravity can be your friend in some cases. But above all of these suggestions, ask a doctor what things you can try. In my case, I wanted to know non-pharma solutions first, because I didn't want to resort to using proton-pump inhibitors.
@codeWhisperer @DJ95X Lucky me, I have an appointment on Wednesday. Will ask about it - it is not the first time as of lately. Keep in mind, I had gastric sleeve surgery - they DID warn me that acid reflux will flare from time to time. But as of lately, it was quite worse than ever.
@ridor9th @codeWhisperer 'worse than ever' seems to be going around, in many scenarios. Best of luck!
@ridor9th Drink water
@ridor9th Drink water and keep swallowing really hard all the way down. Those muscles take a bit to wake up and thats what keeps acid down. Your esophagus should feel better after a few of those 'reps'. Hard candy also helps. It produces saliva and makes for constant swallowing. The best of all is a tall glass of ice cold almond milk. Almonds are alkaline and neutralize acid. Better than Pepto. Hang in there, reflux sucks.
