@reportbywilson The most efficient way to kill megafauna was to drive them over cliffs, then butcher the dead/injured animals at the bottom. There are many sites in western North America this was documented (and in some cases observed first hand) with bison.

I can see these pike arrays used as adjuncts where the terrain doesn't support cliff kill sites, or to make channels to move them to the right spot.
