i've been cooking since i was ~5 yrs old. being in the kitchen helping my mom, stirring pots, adding things & when i was old enough chopping & handling certain dishes on my own. even tho it was mostly cooking indian, i just have a good sense of what will go w/ what, what i can substitute or add that will 'go'.

recipes are guidelines not rules for me & generally my food is well rec'd & enjoyed. but i've learned some peeps can't cook no matter how hard they apply themselves. is this you?

@rakshy how did you learn, if i may ask?

i don't know that i ๐Ÿ’œ to cook. i ๐Ÿ’œ to entertain.

that being said, i ๐Ÿ’œ my homemade food better than just about anything but a few restaurant items (like steak - can't make it to save soul).

how did I learn to cook? - it's a necessary skill, imo, so I learned that skill. one does not have to love certain activity to practice it. especially, when it's so fundamental.
so I usually cook something very simple and preferably healthy. cook big batches, freeze portions etc. or eat raw veg & fruits. when other people are involved, try to negotiate the part of work that is not cooking. something like that๐Ÿ˜€
