It sucks that your family has been captured the way they appear to have been.
I cannot imagine the pain, and likely some grief, you must feel at simultaneously being both excited and filled with dread to see them.
I think you're right to stand up for what you believe in, but also know when strategic standing down is best too.

I still have a lot of gut emotional reactions to things out of years of reactionary politics. Some things still make me uncomfortable but I know that's a "me" thing, and I think I'm progressing

@The757Progressive I've always been split minded on how to handle COVID.
One one side, I never denied it exists and it's pretty bad. I saw how sick people got myself.
On the other side..... life does go on, even in the worst of a storm, and people will always be people and we are only as strong as the weakest link in our chain.
I would love for it all to just be over and done. Only if wishes were dollars.

I very initially wasn't worried about it till the horror stories started to come out early 2020.
I will do a few things in public now with all my 💉 & 😷 but I haven't done anything "social" since April 1 2020
No current plans to change that.

Perhaps recent good news about the bivalent booster being good, and about the lack of massive waves from XBB/BQ11 in the USA mean we are finally turning a corner.
If we get thru this winter w/o The Omega Variant coming into play or another huge set of waves...

I didn't, but I had hiking friends who did.
They ended up cowboy camping outside of towns and out of sight for a lot longer than they had prepared for.
