The Dem strategy of putting money in Rep primary races to bolster extreme Trumpers on the calculation that those will be easy to beat in the general election, scares me shitless. I have seen the American electorate and I think the strategy could very well backfire and voters could go for the candidates that Dems thought were beyond the pale. Dems need to better understand what voters may go for.
@Cmnslivn exactly! And all the pundits were saying that he couldn't possibly win. I don't understand why analysts keep overestimating the electorate. I know that is dark, but the electorate is neither decent not smart.
@publickovacs . Dems are looking more conservative and normal as the GOP becomes wacky extremists.
@Cmnslivn you are absolutely right. It is just that the time is not right for conservative stuff. But of course the entire political culture of the US is conservative as a general rule. We tend to forget that or pretend it is not the case.
