So sick of people saying they’re tired of vaccines. Pretty sure the half hour spent getting a shot will seem like a holiday missed when they’re flat on their back for days with fever, flu or Covid.

@prairiecelt

I had three die before vaccine. Fourth too lazy to get it after available. She died at 62.

@LnzyHou I lost my Dad in a totally preventable hospital outbreak before the vax. He was just about to be discharged home when they transferred a c+ patient from another hospital and never said anything. He was on a floor for geriatric patients - at least 20 died within 2 weeks. He was still living on his own at 92.

@LnzyHou @prairiecelt 💔 my condolences to both of you. I think it is important to reflect on family members & friends we lost to Covid. It seems to be forgotten in the media, which is strange. Down south in 🇺🇸, where I’m from originally, there are beautiful monuments commemorating those who died in the Yellow Fever epidemic. It’s odd to me I don’t hear about (maybe they do exist?) about monuments for those we lost to Covid?💔

@JGSchaeffer @prairiecelt

I too live in the south. Never have seen a monument for either.

@LnzyHou @prairiecelt Here’s the one in Memphis, marking the grave of 1500 of the 5000+ folks who died in the Memphis Yellow Fever Epidemic of 1878. This was built in 1971. roadsideamerica.com/story/3429

@LnzyHou @prairiecelt It’s a very, very powerful spot to visit, knowing the 1500 buried there all helped others and died doing so. The river is like a mirror there. It is one of my favourite places on the planet as its energy there is profound. Another pic showing the Mississippi River.
