This is an important piece on the impact (or lack thereof) of retracting scientific papers when a field is plagued by research paradigms that allow whole careers to be spent churning out papers on studies more likely than not to fail on replication attempts.

@MLClark Just as important is how we remove this false knowledge from LLMs. As far as I know, you can't delete knowledge easily. You have to retrain the LLM on a dataset that doesn't inlcude the invalid information.

Excellent point! Especially with the aggressive onboarding of LLMs to what remains of our major search engines, this is a huge problem for collective access to accurate summations of the science as it currently stands.
