Today I was on a service call at one of my clients’ businesses. The owner was in, and he was in a chatty mood. His political views are, to put it politely, the opposite of mine. I had to listen for several minutes as he told me all about the terrible state of our nation, and how to fix it. I’m happy to say that at no time did I indicate that I agreed with him. I listened a lot, smiling, and said things like “huh,” and “hmmm…” He knows from former conversations that our votes will be different.
The nearness of the election has apparently got him riled up and he feels the need to vent, and maybe to justify himself. No matter. I will take care of his server and workstations in exchange for American legal currency. He doesn’t have to be a smart voter, he just has to pay me, and he does. Let’s keep the two things separate.
