Russian schools are engaging children to right "letters of gratitude" to Russian soldiers invading Ukraine in a genocidal war.
I wonder what they write in those letters: "Thank you, my fascist older brother, for attacking a neighboring country and killing everyone there, I can't express my thanks enough" -- something like this?

"Things are the same as always here in Russia. Nothing ever changes in Russia, but we like that.
We are grateful no one in the family has fallen out a window lately.
We hope you don't get killed while committing war crimes, because we need you to come back and support the family."
Yes, I know something of Russia too. 😉 My father has a Masters in Russian Historical Literature, and visited during the Soviet era.

Good point! The only Russians I've ever met in person were the ones who got themselves out and came here. They were all US citizens, or in process, so they were really Americans. Or whatever they preferred to call themselves. But the distinction is everything.
That's about what my father tells me of those states, and what I've gleaned myself. Humanity at it's worst.
@p3R1n01D the only “wonderful Russians” I meet are those who had fled the country. The rest are rotten, I can’t even begin to explain.
But the worst, the VERY FCKNG WORST of all are vatniks from other ex-Soviet states who think they are Russians. Those are despicable aholes of the highest degree.
They’ll spy, and direct artillery fire on their country’s troops, and betray their neighbours to the aggressor should Russia chose to attack their country next.
Exquisite, grade A bastards.
