How to Be Kind to People You Disagree With During an Election Year: Tips From Experts
It’s easy to let emotions run amok when we feel strongly about high-stakes issues, but it’s far from constructive to sever ties with the people you care about. So Nice News interviewed experts to offer suggestions on how to respect, empathize with, and be kind to individuals with opposing political views.

@Liliki I agree, they are hopeless and mindless and often deserve the "fuck yous" they provoke.
@nursefrombirth Hi. This is all good -- if we're talking about reasonable debate of policies. Politics. That isn't what we are experiencing though. We're talking about moral and ethical differences.
There is no 2-sides to racism, misogyny, separating children from families and caging them, voting rights protections, attempting to overturn votes, homophobic denial of rights, calling for a 24-hr purge, etc. If one votes to deny my granddaughter the right to her own body, f**k them.
@n8evans Kind of a far reach with what we are dealing with now. I agree the MAGA extremist are hopeless and not capable of reasonable debate. I have had success with those who dare think for themselves.
@nursefrombirth And my response isn't directed at you. It is directed at the authors of that article and their convenient denial of what is really happening here and threatening us all. There are no 2 sides to democracy.
For you: Have a wonderful Sunday!
@nursefrombirth Nah. The people I disagree with politically are trumpanzees. I see no reason to be nice to the "fuck your feelings" crowd, fuck them. I ignore them most of the time but if cornered I let them have it. "Don't shit your politics on my head, I'm not your toilet" is a reply I use more and more often.
