Periodical cicadas belonging to two separate broods, Brood XIII and Brood XIX, will emerge together in a dual emergence event that will see a trillion cicadas buzzing across 16 U.S. states.
Affected states include Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Wisconsin and Virginia.
@nursefrombirth my new pup, 65-pound shepherd mix, has been digging hole all across my back yard. I had no idea why until I recent found her chewing on an enormous cicada grub! She's been digging them up and eating them.
