Henrietta Lacks' hometown will build statue of her to replace Robert E. Lee monument
A statue of Henrietta Lacks, a Black woman whose cells were taken without her consent and subsequently used in several major medical breakthroughs, will be built in her hometown in Roanoke, Va.

Oh man, that is perfect. Did you read The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks? I was so touched by the part where her descendants were able to view HeLa cells under the microscope.
@Helical_Code Yes, I have read it a few times. This is great news. She deserves a statue. Lots of people have been saved by HELA cells.

Love this! Hope this helps her family and honors her as she deserves. And hopefully continues to raise awarensss about ethics. Sadly, it is still needed.
