a little yappy dog bit me when i was 4 when i was trying to stay away from it.
i am terrified of dogs. they bark at me when i am just passing by. i try to give them a wide berth. doesn't matter.
a cat has never bit me when i am minding my own biz.

I'm a cat person. While I care about animals, generally, I *enjoy* almost all cats, while dogs can be annoying AF.
Dogs are codependent: so desperate for affection they will endure abuse and still seek approval and attention. Their motto is "please love me!"
Cats are independent: if you don't treat them the way they want to be treated, they go somewhere else. Their motto is "Love me. No? Fine, whatever. I don't need you."
