when peeps have asked me why i'm not married, i have often said, i love myself too much. that's not b/c i'm arrogant. just that i don't feel a relationship is worth all the compromises necessary.

@singlemaltgirl Same. I may love whoever I'm with, but I'm always going to love me more and choose me every time. And if that makes me selfish🤷 I'm ok with it.
@singlemaltgirl I feel you. Similar childhood situation. I'm not willing to compromise any parts of myself. lol
@mistressticia it took me a long time to build myself up after a father who tore me down at every oppty. i have yet to meet a man who won't diminish me in some way. not b/c he's cruel or abusive. but just that he has his own shit. & i'm not willing to put up w/ 1 iota of it. the compromises to my sense of self is not worth it. so i have a man for my 'purposes' but i don't need a partner in life. i've created an outstanding life for myself on my own. hard graft & i'm not willing to let it go.
