i know there's all kinds of memes & jokes trying to combat the 'your body, my choice' slogan.

coming from a home where family violence was a common occurrence, this phrase just emboldens men to treat women as property even more. i'm sorry. i can't laugh. b/c i know the kinds of men who weaponize this language.

not trying to bring anyone's vibe down. & not trying to thwart how peeps deal w/ such ugliness.

i've just been seeing the memes & they were bothering me. i couldn't pinpoint why. then it dawned on me. b/c i thought of my father weaponizing those words. hearing his voice in my head.

anyway, carry on, coso. carry on.

@singlemaltgirl I feel you. This is my childhood trauma where my father used to tell me everyday that I was his property and my brother was the golden child only for the simple fact I was born female. Now I smack those same kind of men in the face with my metaphorical dick every chance I get. I know how to play this game. And I know how to win.
