I am a textbook micro blogger, randomly updating on my relatively unremarkable life and thoughts. I do not curate (I don’t know anyone here who does).

I love potatoes.

Think about your online interactions as if you are spending emotional capital, because you are. If you have feedback loops of things that scare you and make you angry, you are giving away emotional capital. If you feel a reaction in your body, that is cortisol, aka emotional capital. If you follow people who continue evoke negative emotional capital, you are only hurting yourself.

Choose who you follow. Feed your mind a balanced diet of giving and receiving emotional capital.

CoSo is a place where decent humans share their thoughts, interests, fears, passions, art, music, photos, writing, etc. It’s a place for decent humans. There’s a lot of us. ❤️

There was a five and dime store with decorative bars on the top floor windows. I used to be terrified that my Mom would be taken by gunpoint, during a robbery, and locked in one of those upstairs rooms forever.

Mind you, this is a town of maybe 1,000 people. No robberies happened, ever.

Get a text from my Dad: What’s going on with (my Aunt)?

Waaat?! I’ve been with her for two days and she’s doing much better since they stopped the chemo.

She’s on the way to the hospital in an ambulance. No idea what’s wrong, but for her to go back to the hospital is not good. She has endured torturous reactions to chemo and refused to go to the hospital. Positive thoughts appreciated. 💛

Oh, we are waffling?

Waffles are puffed up pancakes.

Both of them have been brutally attacked by a neighbor’s dogs.

They are small, but they are mighty.

I watched Ripley. I don’t remember the first film adaptation, although I’m sure I watched it. And I don’t remember reading the book. It was beautifully shot. I found Andrew Scott brilliant throughout. Quiet in its tension building, but effective. A bit long. It’s a commitment to finish.

I’d fully commit to Keto, but no potatoes, so I’m eliminating all the carbs except occasionally having whole potatoes (no fries or tots). Three days in and I’m doing alright.

Between Amazon, Chewy, and Apple, I’m spoiled friggen rotten with fast shipping times.

The new hormone replacement seems to have significantly slowed the hair loss I was experiencing. Win.

I just ran the vacuum, so now I’ll take the dogs out. Hubs mowed for the first time yesterday, and it’s been raining today. I do things in the wrong order. 😬

Every year I Google plants that look like grass, and every year I give up trying to figure it out. Plant finder couldn't even identify them.

Now I know.

Finally. After years of looking at these patches of what looks like ornamental grass in my perennial flower box, I have solved the mystery of what these plants are: rain lilys. Hallelujah.

My Aunt can’t walk without help after her last round of chemo. So yesterday when I was at her house, a random neighbor showed up asking if he could store his wife’s birthday cake in my Aunt’s fridge overnight. Now back to my Aunt’s I go, to retrieve the cake when he comes to pick it up. Small town happenings.

Yucca are so aggro. They are all, I’m basically dead, but my leaves will keep growing foreva to cast wide shadows over anything around me. Go ahead, try to dig me up. Muahahaha.

I dreamt about being at the beach for what felt like the entire night. The ocean is calling me.

Why do I have to be so old. That song can’t be that old.

"Hello World"

Returning home to CoSo after a couple years without. It's changed quite a bit since I was last here, so still exploring and settling in.

The lottery used by the Selective Service to determine who would be drafted for Vietnam first. In each capsule is a day of the year, determining the order of draftees by their birthday. Washington D.C. 1969.

I got #51 in my draw and they were taking kids up to #192... but the draft ended before they called me up.

The color has returned to my world. Spring has sprung. When I was younger, fall was my favorite season. As I get older, I appreciate the renewed sense of life that Spring brings.

But, if you ask me in October, fall might be back at the top. 🤷🏻‍♀️
