HOT DANG DOG DAYS OF SUMMER... #HEATWARNING PLEASE PAY ATTENTION AND TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR DOGGOS!!! AND OUR OUTSIDE CATS! PUT SEVERAL BOWLS / PIE PLATES OF WATER OUT FOR CATS, SQUIRRELS, AND WILDLIFE!
@QueenOfEverything Yes, I agree, Queen! I have water 24/7 front and back of the house... the last roaster day I saw my tiny little orange tummied brown backed squirrel drinking out of the doggie bowl of water I have under one of the hedges in the shade.
*Made my day* We last over half of our wildflife to the heat - over the past three heat waves in the last 5 or 6 weeks. 😭😭 Either they went away to somewhere cooler or passed.
@QueenOfEverything That's when I added to the one I had out back and one out front. Now I keep a mister going for the birds, two birdbaths with solar squirty fountain in them, three bowls and pie plates from goodwill out front and same out back. It's so fun to see them being used. I was once a beekeeper and the honeybees and other pollinators love the misting too. 😊
I finally unpacked the boxes that had my large bird baths! I'm going to get one of the solar fountain floats for both.
I have a nice free for all area that i grew with seeds for all the polinators... FINALLY it's really blooming. I water it with the sprinkler and the bees buzz it afterwards because the water drops hang on all the flowering plants.
@mims
It's REALLY CRITICAL for folks to put out dishes of water for our feral friends.
Just using large pot saucers- 14" plastic- you can put out a couple. Easy to zap them with a hose to keep them clean & refilled.
I just posted a video of a hummingbird who follows my sprinkler. Birds really can use a little sprinkler time if you can do it!
