@Agatha I asked someone today in a Facebook group called โBaghdad By The Bayโ what it was like then.
Someone replied that it was like time standing still.
Keeping in mind that this was 10 days after the news came out of Jonestown, which impacted thousands in the Bay Area.
Itโs an important lesson worth teaching in schools today.
This definitely stood out more to me than Jonestown. Jones had that connection, but those murders took place far away. But yeah, it was surreal.
Not long after, Feinstein became mayor. She came to my elementary school. I was late that day. I remember walking to the door as she & her people were leaving. No interaction, but I saw this woman who was "Important", & that left a positive impact on me. First woman in power I'd ever seen.
@Agatha Wow - what an incredible moment to experience!!!

I'm from San Francisco. I was young, but I remember it. The shock and sadness of those around you leaves a mark even when one is too young to fully understand. But we learned about it in school. Talked about it for years after.
