TIL my local post office started locking the drive-thru drop-off mailboxes at 5pm and they don't unlock them until 8:30am, even on election day
I saw others coming to my same realization.
It was my mistake to wait until the last day to get my ballot in the mail, but you would think that in a relatively voter-friendly state like CA, the boxes would be open before work for commuters.
@Gardenthymeherbs I don't understand why DeJoy is still there, either. The US Postal Service is an essential service and supports our National Response Framework. IOW, it's a critical piece of our ability to respond to disasters and emergencies. We need it more than most people realize.
@michaelsfine It took 7 days for mom to get her birthday card. We live in the same town. Not sure why dejoy is still there, destroying our important sacred postal service. Heard he plans to lay off 50,000 people.
