I find it hard to summarize the morality or the impressions of what a man{or woman} is truly like 200 years after their dead.
The written word overall shows very little about true personality or Morality
But on the other hand, I would like to think he would be horrified,..... for a slave owner that is
@WeThePeople all I have read about him tells me that he wouldn't want to be an idol. Yes he was a slave owner but he also rejected the attempt to coronate him. This is not to forgive the unforgivable - but he was a man of the enlightenment.
