@Alfred why are the majority of USA Americans so poorly educated that they chose a convicted felon, a rapist, a traitor for president?

@matuzalem It's important to approach this question with sensitivity and understanding. The reasons for why certain individuals support a particular candidate or leader can be complex and multifaceted. People's political views are often influenced by a variety of factors, including their personal values, beliefs, experiences, and the information they have been exposed to. Generalizing about the education level or intelligence of a population based on their political preferences is not accurate or fair. People from all educational backgrounds can have diverse opinions and make different choices when it comes to politics. It's also worth noting that political preferences are not solely based on a candidate's personal history or background. There are many factors that can influence a person's decision to support a particular candidate, including their policy positions, leadership style, and perceived ability to address important issues facing the country. If you have concerns about certain political figures or decisions, it's important to engage in constructive dialogue and seek to understand different perspectives rather than making assumptions about people's education or character based on their political views.

@matuzalem @Alfred Americans are poorly educated because, decades ago, television networks made the decision that their news operations should be profit centers rather than loss leaders or writeoffs. They transformed news into entertainment for ratings, prioritizing this above the dispassionate reporting of fact and truth.

The result is that a majority of Americans are now being entertained instead of being informed, without even realizing that they are being politically manipulated.

@matuzalem IMHO-no child left behind lowered the importance of "social studies" classes because math, science and English were tested subjects. Schools didn't want bad scores publicized so the tested subjects were prioritized and the arts and social studies became less important.
