Quitting cigarettes is harder than quitting heroin....

...Change my mind

@matuzalem A lot of addiction specialists agree with this statement.

@matuzalem I've quit the former and never experienced the latter. Nicotine is a drug that I was unable to 'kick' cold turkey. I went through a behavioral modification program called Smoke Enders way back in the 20th Century. I've been nicotine free for several years😎

@matuzalem I've never been addicted to heroin, but I've heard people say that. Cigarettes are still legal and can be bought at any corner convenience store, too, which makes it harder. Glad I quit.

@matuzalem

I believe Steven Tyler has said the same thing. It. Is. Incredibly. Hard.

If you're in the midst of quitting, keep going! The stupid things killed my sister.

@matuzalem I can't compare to heroin, because I've never been addicted to it. But it's widely understood to be easier to quit than nicotine.

I can say that quitting cigarettes has been far, far more difficult than quitting alcohol, and I was a serious alcoholic for over a decade.

They don't even make you feel good after you've been hooked a bit. They smell bad, mess with your mood, your taste, your smell, they're costly, and all they realy do is relieve the discomfort of craving one for a bit.
