Evening light
Streaming from the west
As the sun sets behind Stoodley
Golden and glorious
It's warm and springlike
Oystercatchers are calling
And Pheasants
are out in great number
Grazing.
New lambs on the flying field
Unsteady and nervous
Bursting with life
And the earliest daffodils
Are smiling back at the sun.
