I've been raging about the R. Kelly allegations for months, because his abuse of girls is repugnant and I think the dude needs to be buried under a prison. Yet my posts on the topic get very little traction or response except from those friends of mine who are people of color. Apparently white people just don't consider the abuse of black girls is their problem. It's "other".
Be better than that, people.
@JeSsA Possible but I don't think so. Sexual abuse and the abuse of women in general is a topic I tend to harp on about pretty frequently, and people engage with me about it all the time because of that. It's only been noticably thin in this case, and it's not like anyone I know is an R&B fan. They're just like "ugh, horrible" but they don't get emotionally involved, because it's just not their problem.
