1 of 2 - I have something to say, and I know it's likely to piss some folks off. But I feel I gotta say it.

Some folks seem to think that counter.social is a 'safe space' - and it is - from a TECHNICAL standpoint. Safe from bots, hackers, mis and disinformation, web archivers and scrapers, foreign influence operations and other nefarious cyber shenanigans.

^^^ 2 of 2 - I can't make it 'safe' with respect to the sensibilities and expectations of everyone who proudly states 'mental illness' (or other special or protected status) in their bio, especially while they proceed to 'thought police' the rest of the community here.

You're on social media, and just like the real world, none of them are your paid therapists.

Everyone gets an equal chance to *not* be an asshole here. Please don't squander it. 🙏

@th3j35t3r This is why places like Wikipedia have policies/essays like “Wikipedia is not therapy”. The tools are all there, it’s up to the individual to employ them. When the community has to step in, or mods/admins/owners, things have to be a bit more dramatic.
