@FrankCannon They're clout chasers, so their desire for monetization and/or followers takes a back seat to integrity when the new social media flavor of the month pops up.
@FrankCannon It's an interesting dynamic. Almost like mini cults of personality based on basic messages their followers emphasize with and a call to action of "liking" it and following them everywhere.
@mach1group See it every time one comes here and they see they can't grift.....they go and tell their followers that it's crap here, don't bother coming.Far too many people unable to think for themselves, they need someone like that to know what to think.
@FrankCannon The dynamic here, as well as the system, won't work for them. It's a bit more conversation and connection driven. I mentioned to someone else that it's more like the message boards and forums of a few years back before corporate social media took over.
@mach1group And that's exactly why they avoid being here.Do a search here for the better known mouthpieces on other platforms, you'll find plenty. Then look at their profile and see how much they use it......that alone speaks volumes.
@mach1group Some picked up 1000s of followers here as soon as they popped up but don't use it as the algorithim doesn't amplify them and is detrimental to grifters.Even on other platforms, the only people they ever interact with is the other, industrial scale grifters.People need to stop listening to them.
@FrankCannon It's more work here. I doubt they'll ever be the same issue here as elsewhere where the get dropped into everyone's line of sight automatically.
@mach1group That's a massive issue for them, everyone here has an equal voice.... they need their voices boosted and amplified because that translates to money for them.
@FrankCannon Money or the ego boost... I don't mind the shilling near as much as I mind the "like/follow me" spam. If you have good content, I'll like/follow you. Don't beg.
@mach1group I despise both equally in all honesty, really gets on my tits. When it comes to the shilling,I hate seeing people being conned but if someone's daft enough to be parted easily from their money, well, that's on them.
@mach1group I block them on sight,no time whatsoever to listen to the bollocks they spout.Just a weird part of 21st century culture that absolute no-marks have been able to garner huge audiences through social media.
