I don't believe there's anything wrong with seeking out the opinions of those who are like-minded. I do feel, however, that it is wise to thoroughly consider the beliefs of others who aren't.
I understand this to be somewhat akin to scientific method - skepticism and challenge is necessary in order to validate one's beliefs. If those beliefs are derived from faith, this is impossible. We can only observe the results of that faith.
That's why I won't judge, but will challenge.
