@GlytchMeister Take Chicago out, we're going hardcore. Our governor isn't playing.😂 🔫
I mean to be fair, Chiraq is one of the places gun-fellating republicans fear to tread, because they are made painfully aware that they aren't the only ones with a frankly obscene quantity of guns...
...and also that everyone there is as violent as they are (citation: if you don't fear for your life while driving, you aren't driving in Chicago or you are a Chicagoan)
Even Florida Man has his head on a swivel on Chicago
So
Yknow
If they decide to start some shit in Chicago, they're definitely gonna get more than they bargained for
@GlytchMeister Absolutely. Chicago is it's own animal. Shhh don't tell them but Beardstown and Southern Illinois have immigrants. Beardstown they work for Cargill. In SI they are migrant workers or seasonal farm hands.😂
@GlytchMeister Truth! Could you imagine if he planned to do a sweep of reservations? Native Americans would be pissed. Which brings up a good point. My understanding is the government put them there and provides some assistance but don't they govern themselves? That means they're not governed by our Constitution and our laws (To a degree)?
@GlytchMeister @Museek I got a great explanation, thank you. Man, Native Americans can't catch a break even today. What are we so afraid of? What the Reservation system represents is internment IMHO. When we isolated Japanese Americans because of Pearl Harbor eventually there was an outcry and they were released. No such outcry exists for Native Americans.
@lisaannlm @GlytchMeister it’s complex. reservations are lands held in federal trust. Unlike everywhere else, where the land cans be used as collateral for economic development tribes without natural resources that are being exploited, block grants are issued. It depends on the individual agreements with the federal government.
The federal government is supposed to provide healthcare (IHS) and Law enforcement but there have been problems with that on certain reservations. Not enough.
@lisaannlm @GlytchMeister unfortunately, apparently, many Native Americans in the southwest, especially, ended up voting against their own interests BECAUSE of the hardship they’ve endured. They were short-sighted because it was so hard. They didn’t see they had an ally in the Biden administration to finally help make change that has come too slow.
@Museek @GlytchMeister That's sad.
@lisaannlm
I'm not as well educated on how that all works as I should be, but @Museek probably knows
