Sooo, if you have a vessel that was built in space, and does not land/interact with atmosphere, what kind of weathering effects would it most likely have after years of transporting things in space o.o

@lilyunsub how far in space? Out of orbit? If not, lots of debris

@Graci deep space, built in an orbital station, designed as a long range transport ship. So thinking engine burn artifacts, possible solar flaring burns/debris damage. Rust wouldn't work as there wouldn't be oxygenation externally due to the vacuum. It wouldn't be welded together because metal would fuse together in space rather than needing to be welded since its not dropping into atmosphere at any point...

@lilyunsub if assembled in a proper docking station, it could be minimized.

@DallasBarnett thats what I'm thinking too. That there would need to be a lot of 'replaced' elements to the paneling of the ship due to that kind of thing. Wondering whether there would be an accumulation of 'dust' of sorts through the travel. Mostly in terms of working out the specifics of the weathering on the transport model for the short x

@lilyunsub try finding some selfies from the ISS from the outboard cameras at the nasa website maybe?

@lilyunsub lots of pitting from micrometeorite impacts. Particulate accumulation. Heat and scoring around propulsion ports. Repaired sections with slight colour variations. That’s how I’d do it.

@C_H_Antony Think you're on to a winner there, sounds like the right approach. Thank you!

@C_H_Antony 😍 I'd love to see your work! And thank you, I was hoping to hear how other modelers would approach it so very much appreciated your input ❀️

@lilyunsub thank you so much I’ll make sure to link you to my next project. I’m taking a break from the Star Wars stuff and starting a multi-franchise sci-fi layout in 1:18 scale. I want to film the whole thing and make little episodes to share and talk about things that matter to me.

@C_H_Antony I love that, definitely keep me in the loop! Would love to see your process as well as the episodes!

@lilyunsub I have a mostly finished one that’s an underground club, but it’s NSFW, if you’d like to see it, I’ll share it, but I don’t want to assume.

@lilyunsub aww, thank you! I promise the new project will be less…specific 😈🀣

@C_H_Antony haha, understandable, but still... the specific is rad and really well done haha

@lilyunsub thank you, I appreciate that. The BDSM lifestyle is a big part of my identity, so it’s not just a horny scene to me. Also, the TST logo on the floor is authentic Me. Thank you for the kind words.

@C_H_Antony same here, being Little to the core, a large part of the PHDM (Pure Heart Dirty Mind) label we run is reference to that. Can definitely appreciate it on many levels so thank you for sharing! ❀️
