There was an older couple who lived down my street, my first job I delivered their paper early morning and he would always be there to wave and smile. I'd always hear him practicing his bagpipe every Sat afternoon like clockwork. 3pm. Every week. I vicariously kept a sense of time from their routine. Eventually stopped delivering papers but still heard the bagpipes. They stopped last year. I still hear bagpipes playing in my head every Sat at 3pm. We never know the affect we have on others ❀️

@lilyunsub I used to shovel the snow for a guy up the block. French Resistance veteran. In the afternoons you'd see him having a whiskey and a cigarette on his balcony. Still glance over to see if he's there when I go visit my Dad, even though the neighbour has been dead for at least 20 years.
