New thread time...

Russian spearheads led by naval infantry are pushing hard towards Kherson and the lower Dnieper River bridges.

1st GTA seems to have taken a tactical pause outside of Kharkiv on the ring road. Maybe sorting out traffic, which units go which direction. Maybe just waiting on more artillery ammo and the guns/rocket launchers to move closer.

Offensive out of Belarus spans the entire border but seems to be moving very slowly and without as much artillery support.

...

Other spearheads seem to have halted after taking border control points or are moving slowly.

LNR/DNR attack on Mariupol bogged down right at the start. Those militia's while heavily armed are simply not capable of breaking long prepared defensive positions.

At least one Ukrainian mech brigade (92nd) has been devastated by MRLS on its positions.

The source of this updated map is Visegrad24. An eastern European news source covering the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary. The map appears to be accurate up to now, but isn't discerning of what type of strike each one is.

Chief of Germany Army this morning: "The Bundeswehr, and the Army that I have the privilege to lead, is more or less stripped bare. The options that we can offer politicians to support the alliance are extremely limited."

Ukrainian forces are fighting back, hard. But they're still losing.

Multiple Russian attack helicopters and at least one fixed wing fighter shot down by shoulder fired missiles.

1st GTA's column in front of Kharkiv is still bogged down on the ring road. Apparently stopped in both directions. Heavy firing on both axis.

Somebody in the Ukrainian air force screwed up and launched an An-26 cargo plane, Russians shot it down.

...

Russian spearhead out of Crimea has crossed the Kherson bridge over the Dnieper. Heavy fighting on the west bank and in Kherson. (should have blown that bridge).

Russian paratroopers have taken an airport west of Kiev, but not by air and not the main civilian airport east of the city. They drove through the exclusion zone. The Russians are cut off and fighting to hold that airport against increasing Ukrainian counter-attacks.

LN/DNR militia attack with tanks on Mariupol stopped in it's tracks, they'll need more Russian support if they're going to re-try that attack.

Russian PGM's are still hitting targets all over Ukraine but the numbers and the accuracy has dropped off. This may indicate that the Russians are reserving their newest models for later use and running low on their older models.

At least two other Russian spearheads in NE Ukraine blunted by Ukrainian counter attacks.

One of those NE spearheads was stopped by multiple volleys of Javelin missiles. At least one T-72 company took heavy losses (I stopped counting burning tanks and armored vehicles at 14).

The other spearhead was met by a counter attack of Ukrainian tanks (mixed batch of T-64 and T-80) losses on both sides and fighting continues in that area. Not of exact location of either battle.

This map from Julian Ropke is mostly accurate given the fluidity of the moment.

In the south the Russians have only taken the Kherson bridge. They were beaten back from the other highway bridge by Ukrainian anti-tank teams and haven't made a 2nd attempt at it yet. They don't seem to have tried the railroad bridge yet either.

See the red dot west of Kiev? That's the airport held by Russian paratroopers.

These are not good gains for the Russians so far.

It's 6pm Ukraine time.

One of the NE spearheads is on the move again. Bypassing main roads, using side roads through villages. Looks like they've given up on moving forward and are attempting to link up with the northern front attacks out of Gomel. No sign of movement from that Gomel spearhead (yet).

This updated map of the southern front is more accurate for the moment.

Ukr government admits that it's lost most of the east bank of the lower Dnieper River. That was expected, it's not defensible land.

Fighting around the airport west of Kiev is intense. Almost all of the Russian close in airstrikes are concentrated in that area.

Ukr gov reporting that over a dozen Russian paratroop aircraft are heading that way out of Belarus. If this part is accurate than they're going to do a mass night drop in an attempt to reinforce that pocket.

That will be horrendous for those paratroopers.

Video of the southern front spearhead crossing the Kherson bridge earlier today. They did so under fire.
