@mcfate I've begun getting curious how the world would react to potential future Orbital Ring, Space Elevator and Dyson Sphere programs. All could dramatically help us but would also be huge changes to our night sky.

I'm somewhat skeptical we'll get that far, but I suppose all of those would fuck up ecosystems in ways that nature couldn't possibly.

@mcfate I doubt we'll ever get that far too. Odds are we will destroy our civilization within 200 years. I'm betting within 100, based on this pandemic and how people respond to being asked to do the smallest things to help prevent it getting worse.

I suspect we'll probably survive in some fashion. Humanity has proven to be brilliant at waiting until the very last minute to solve pressing problems as best one can by that point.
