@corlin Yeah, this is definitely a problem for things like deanonymizing Big Data sets, for instance. Can differential privacy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Differential_privacy) overcome this? Maybe. But if not, there are still lots and lots of applications where academic publications can and should share data, if for no other reason than the replicability crisis.
