If oranges are called oranges, why aren’t bananas called yellows?

@TheNewsOwl the the color was actually named after the fruit, not the other way around, I think....

@kismatt Correct. In older English they were called Noranges (think Spanish Narangas) and probably as part of The Great Vowel Shift, we moved from "a norange" to "an orange". @TheNewsOwl
