1/2: A guy got himself fired yesterday, it seems. The background on that development is he was a subcontractor for a GC who arranged for a door and frame to my house to be replaced last week. When presented with the invoice I noted a discrepancy and was informed there was a cost difference when picking up the job material. It was on letterhead, and I signed for it. I also snapped a photo of it because there wasn't a customer copy.
Monday I called the GC and left a message about the $75...
@thedisasterautist someone got caught with their hand in the cookie jar, methinks
@kismatt: Kinda. It's mostly a cash business because nobody wants to pay the extra 4.25% credit/debit card surcharge, and they don't take checks. I pay cash, though this was the first time that sub did work for me through them *and* the first time there was no customer copy. So it's fraud and invoice forgery, and so in North Carolina dude could get up to 2yrs. per forged invoice, not to mention whatever he can get for the fraud charges. I figure he'll plead down.
