it seems to me that those behind the "He Gets Us" Jesus ads are telling poor folks that Jesus is all theirs... that they are the "blessed" ones. the Jesus that "gets them" is the one that wastes money on ads flouting their wealth, rather than doing as the actual Jesus did and feeding the hungry, housing the homeless, healing the sick & comforting the broken.
if you REALLY wanted to bring people to Jesus, you have to walk the walk, no matter how really difficult that is

@redenigma One of the ads they run during baseball season referenced Judas.

They don't remember/realize that Judas did what he did (turning him into the Romans) because Jesus wasn't being as disruptive as Judas wanted him to be.
