FUN FACT: Kirk’s captain’s chair had exactly 3 labeled buttons. ALERT, ALERT again (like choosing ring tones I assume) and JETTISON POD. Pod jettisoning is obviously an major part of a starship captain’s duties. The two unlabeled buttons are for features that Star Fleet opted not to purchase
