@killingfloorman A version of this was taught in Business School when I was younger as the difference between US and Scandinavian business structures
@killingfloorman Our department at MSU had one supervisor per shift and usually 2 actual workers. Day shift of course would have 2 workers, one supervisor, one asst supervisor, one shift manager, one department manager and another manager to manage the managers. MSU is notoriously too heavy but hiring was halted for workers only. Managers and supervisors were always replaced when one left.
I found it funny that come weekends and holidays workers could always manage without any supervision.
