@ecksmc she tried desperately, but guess what? The gaslighting was...gaslighting

@killingfloorman still some got reported and JK did post a challenge to polis to arrest here so, obviously they won't go after her with all the publicity surrounding this and her 🤷‍♂️

That's the issue you seem to miss here

Police are overworked as is now they have to look at stoopid posts from people to determine if they are hateful or not that's the issue here

@killingfloorman Open for manipulation you can't deny that and who's to say that next reports saying almost the same things are deemed hatful by someone else who is charge

Letter of the law means something this law is not in anyway shape or form written correctly

Its a genuine concern its not gasligjting *sigh*

@ecksmc you know that reports go through *all* those civilian bodies, then the polis, then the procurator fiscal before a charging decision is made. Anything charged will be a hate crime. And we don't want hate crimes in Scotland

@killingfloorman yeah I know fully how the law works or how it should work in theory I should say lol

Again how much money is that gonna waste on our already stretched system

This law was not needed we already had a good hate crime law in place that worked

@ecksmc c'mon man you're posting headlines from the Scottish Daily Mail ffs. I didn't say you were gaslighting, i said all this is a made up storm in a teacup as was proven in practice. The law is not at all controversial and has well thought through and laid out procedures to be implemented. Rowling was looking to be a martyr and even the polis just laughed at her.

The police are not looking at any more stupid posts today than they were last week.

@ecksmc remember all reports are vetted by a wide range of sensible organizations before the ones likely to be hate speech are referred to polis

@killingfloorman and I've also posted articles where same officer was quoted 🤷‍♂️

reports that more than 3,000 complaints have been received so far under the new legislation

Also - non-crime hate incident is recorded when an incident does not meet the threshold for a crime but is perceived to be “motivated (wholly or partly) by malice and ill-will towards a social group”, according to Police Scotland guidance

So JKs posts were/are deemed as malice and ill willed -
