At last! The "holy grail" footage of Van Halen's full set at Donington 1984 has unexpectedly surfaced online
A YouTuber by the name of Hot Shoe, Burnin' Down the Avenue – has uploaded what appears to be the rest of the film. It's pro-shot, and while the audio isn't perfect (it cuts in and out, flickers from stereo to mono, and features plenty of audible chatter from the crowd), it captures the excitement of the show brilliantly.
Eddie was for me, as for many, our god. We wanted to play like he did, and most of could only nick little bits here and there, And that was fine, we could be happy with that ... but I don't remember any of us ever wanting to have anything to do with assclown Roth. Still can't stand the bastard.
@XaoslordErie I was (am) a big fan of Roth as a front man. He couldn't sing for shit live, but he put on a good show and his vocals were good enough in the studio
