If someone tells you that software developers are soon going to be obsolete, ask them "Are you currently developing using AI to enhance your coding and configuring procedures?"
If the answer is "no", tell them they don't know anything about the subject.
AI-enhanced software engineers are going to accelerate the building of all of the capabilities that were hindered by human-only skills.
@AskTheDevil
I can do that currently. The AI is a cocky, sophomoric source of output.
But, the human can reign it in and make it deliver. It's just a painful journey at the moment.
@jurban The problem is that the AI tools are not being built and run by people who have our interests at heart. They are built and run by rapaciously greedy and short-sighted people who only care about their own wealth and influence.
So no, it's not going to be painful "at the moment", it's laying the road for us to be more dependent on the very people who will oppress us.
We don't need better tools for that, we need AI tools bent toward human prosperity, not concentrating wealth to a few.
@AskTheDevil
Working on it.....
And, we need that brain-computer interface before superintelligence arrives. I'm not joking.
@jurban Humans need to do a better job of gettng their brain-to-their-own-brain interface working.
@AskTheDevil
Now we're getting back to our last thread about the 6 layers of the human brain and abstract thinking. It's what sets us apart from the chimps. Some may not have that 6th layer fully developed and compensate for it with more primal thinking.
@jurban Yes, we'll be able to program computers to do their jobs badly and sloppily even more efficiently now.
