Hey @AskTheDevil,
Is it a good thing?
Or a bad thing?
That Trump survived?
And
Is the shooter
A good person?
Or
A bad person?
@jurban If Trump had a heart attack, or died in his sleep or got hit by lightning, I think I'd feel relieved. Some hope the cult of personality would break apart, the extremists would no longer have such a grip, cooler heads could prevail.
But if someone _kills_ him, I feel like that could make the evil spirit he represents unkillable. He' could become a martyr, an angel, a returning messiah, an icon to be brandished in his memory, by whichever rough beasts slink behind.
Ugh.
@jurban I think what we need is to beat him. To enforce justice and the rules.
To tell the people shouting that there should be rules for everyone but them: "no, we're not doing that any more."
If we lose that democracy, and there's a dictatorship, theocracy, slavery, injustice, then we'll talk.
@jurban I think it's a bad thing that this happened. I think it's a bad thing that someone like him is a serious candidate, and that "the system" has not stopped a convicted criminal who wants to be a dictator from being a serious contender for president.
I know nothing about the shooter except they tried to shoot Trump. I don't even know why, or what they hoped to accomplish, or what. I can say I wish they hadn't tried this.
They're dead now, so who'll speak for them?
