I needed a lot of attempts to get a modestly good photo using my camera and welding glasses. Then I cropped it to fill the frame.
@jurban I caught hell getting the couple of pics I got. My phone's camera is rather finicky and usually requires something solid to focus on or it won't do squat. It was a struggle, but I made it work. 🙂👍

Same here. Pixel 8. After struggling to change the brightness while pressed up against the welding glass it would just go all-white. I'd have to shut it down and start over.
@jurban I had to hold the filter a couple inches away from the lens. It helped a lot if there was something solid nearby that it could focus on. This thing is most definitely not set up for astrophotography. It seems to be optimized for selfies. I rarely do those. I am not that vain!
