If by "child" you mean "under-20", then Yes. She was not close, but her death had consequences to my family.
@Museek
I was thinking about the emotional impact that lingers from being isolated from friends for a year. It's like all the kids went to jail and we're expecting everything to be OK with them now that they are back in school.
When they are adults they are still going to feel the impact of COVID.
I really feel for those kids that didn't have a high school prom and graduation ceremony. In our culture, those are "sacred" events enabling transitions to adulthood.
@jurban i know. In this respect we’re lucky. We have a tight group of friends and family plus a counselor.. for those who don’t it’s terrible. It impacts families in many different ways but being in the reservation and seeing who is left and how they’re getting by was hard.
@jurban as a parent, I am still feeling it. Yesterday I had to take her to be tested… for the umpteenth time and take her to school
Late. We talk about it and it’s much better than it was before she was eligible for vaccines. She’s fortunate because we do have counselors and healthcare. Something severely lacking on the reservations I have just returned from.
