I'm constantly considering the question: "Are people fundamentally good or bad?"
I think the question is better defined as "Are people fundamentally selfish or selfless?"
I think you can be Good and yet Selfish.
But, it's probably hard to find someone that is Bad and Selfless.
@FLTV_Writes
"Goodness" comes in three levels:
1) Personal morality
2) Community responsibility
3) Obeying the Law
Most criminals are beyond #3.
I'm interested in those that disregard #1.
@jurban I'll pose another quandary to go along with this... if someone needs the threat of punishment (law, hell, etc.) to do the right thing, are they good or just pretending to be good?
