IMHO anyone that refers to themselves as We, and does so without qualifying it, is a self-righteous @#%$ and doesn't deserve to be indignant.

@jurban I don’t look at it that way. Whenever I would travel to other countries, or even to reservations, here, I would make a point of trying to understand the culture and I’m beginning to see that I don’t understand some subtleties so the only way I can get around that is to ask.

I think we're going through a correction in cultural acceptance whereby a lot of disaffected people are caching in on decades of abuse by directing it at the wrong people.

True.. we are. As someone who is mixed Native American, I’ve seen a lot of ignorance that wasn’t intentional, tho’, so I usually (not always) try to meet somewhere in the middle so that people can actually think about things they might not have before. I have had my own cultural &political misunderstandings even within native communities. it’s a fine line to walk.
