Family Values are not about morality. It's about obedience to rules. Usually that means do what the father says. That's based in antiquated traditions. It's about maintaining power.
Or, it's about placating the sky fairy so your fate is more positive.

These are authoritarians using Christianity as a legitimizing identity.
